The first phase of the work occurred on the British side of the boundary, with the CDP1 drilling and wellhead platform, the TP1 processing platform, the FP flare structure and the QP quarters platform.

At the same time, a gas pipeline was laid from TP1 to the St Fergus receiving terminal in Scotland. The MCP-01 compression platform stood midways along this line to provide sufficient pressure in the gas.
